Description
Amazon Operations is the backbone of the Amazon customer experience. With more than 50 fulfillment centers, hundreds of delivery stations, and tens of thousands of employees, we work together to efficiently deliver to our customers. At fulfillment centers, millions of items are picked and packed each year, while delivery teams work to get orders to customers as quickly as possible. Safety is our top priority, and the operations culture is characterized by teamwork, diversity, and a shared work ethic that keeps the company running smoothly. We are proud to contribute to the quality of service for which Amazon is known globally.
Note: You must be eligible to work in the country of employment at the start date of the position.
Key job responsibilities
As an Operations Intern at Amazon, you will have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills through high-impact projects that will improve the operation and quality of service of distribution centers, sortation centers and delivery stations.
Key aspects of the role include:
• Analyzing data to identify operational problems and improvement opportunities
• Proposing and testing solutions, implementing the most effective ones in collaboration with the different teams involved
• Carrying out priority projects and respecting high quality standards, thus demonstrating your ability to achieve results
• Developing your communication and teamwork skills by collaborating with managers, colleagues and employees of all levels and from different teams
• Being mobile in the different areas of the warehouse to interact with all teams. This includes gaining knowledge by participating in start-of-day briefings as well as team meetings on the various warehouse flows and processes.
A day in the life
Our internships are educational opportunities that will allow you, as future managers, to discover how we lead and develop our teams on a daily basis.
An operations internship is a dive into the dynamic and complex world of our fulfillment centers, sortation centers, and delivery stations, where you will follow the journey of a customer order and understand how our managers mobilize their teams to meet customer expectations.
Through this internship, you will gain a realistic and concrete overview of the permanent opportunities that await you at Amazon Operations.
You’ll learn how our managers cultivate a safe and productive environment, unlocking the full potential of their teams through effective engagement and performance management strategies.
This is a unique opportunity to develop the skills needed to launch a rewarding career at Amazon.
